    5 Healthy Halloween Snack Ideas

    Ahhh, Halloween. While it's not really a holiday, it's a favourite among kids for one main reason: candy. Monitoring what your neighbours are handing out to trick-or-treaters is a little challenging, but if you're hosting a Halloween party for you and your family, it's much easier to limit the amount of sugar guests (and your kids) are consuming.

    Instead of filling mixing bowls with chips, Tootsie Rolls, and M&M's, try making one (or all) these healthy Halloween snacks: 

    Fruit Leather Apple Spiders

    No bake, no problem! This fast and easy snack only requires four ingredients: apples, fruit leather, almond butter (peanut butter would work, too), and chocolate chips (or raisins). Next time you're picking up apples at the market, pick up some of our fruit leather for this recipe! 

    Apple Peanut Butter Teeth

    Another apple-based recipe for Halloween! These apple peanut butter teeth are even easier to make than the recipe above. Cut apples, slather them with peanut butter, and strategically place mini-marshmallows between the slices for teeth. You can also use yogurt-covered raisins/cranberries instead of the marshmallows!

    Fresh Fruit Halloween Cups

    The easiest recipe of them all! These fruit cups require assembly and a little creativity. Place different types of fruit, preferably green grapes, into small, clear, plastic cups. Then, use your imagination and draw on faces!

    Sweet, filling, and healthy! This recipe is for chocolate-loving kids - the bananas are drizzled with both white and milk chocolate. Make sure you leave yourself enough time for this recipe as it can't be whipped up in a few minutes! The bananas need to be frozen prior to assembly.

    A spin-off from the traditional candy apple, this spooky recipe calls for apples, white and dark chocolate, potato chips (yup), nuts, M&M's, and edible candy eyes. You can pretty much use whatever you like to decorate and spice this apple, though!
