Canada Day is an important day to us. The markets are extra busy, bustling with families and friends, and (if we're lucky) the sun is shining. Canada Day is also a day to reflect how fortunate we are to be able to share our love of growing things with you.
We're Canadian, through and through. If you want to get more specific, British Columbian and Albertan. Our fearless leaders, Steve and Dan, grew up in the beautiful Okanagan Valley and were quickly working on their parents' orchard. It was there that their love of the land began to grow. Even though they've since relocated to Alberta, they still get back every chance they can to spend a few days in the Oliver orchard.
We truly believe in supporting our local farmers and therefore the local economies. That's why we only source fruit and vegetables from Canadian farmers that share our values of integrity, community, and sustainability.
We label ourselves BC Fruit with pride. We believe that the tastiest fruit is grown with love in the Okanagan and that's why we share it with our Alberta markets. You can find a lot of fruit grown overseas at markets and grocery stores, but none of that fruit tastes as good as the Oliver cherries, the Abbotsford blueberries, or the Osoyoos apricots.
On Canada Day, you can find us in Drayton Valley at the Omniplex from 11am to 3pm, as well as in the parade handing out fruit. We will also be at the Canada Day Wetaskiwin Farmers Market, the Canada Day Celebrations at Broadmoor Lake in Sherwood Park, the Fort Saskatchewan Canada Day Market in the CN Station parking lot, and the Lakedell Farmers Market. We can't wait to see you!
Happy Canada Day!
