Autumn is here! The leaves are bright red, orange, and yellow; the weather is cooler; the apples on our orchard are ready for pickin', and Thanksgiving is this weekend. As we wrap up the outdoor market season, we've been thinking more about what dishes we'll be cooking in the next few days. After some thought and research, we wanted to share 4 recipes we're excited to try this Thanksgiving:
1. Gina's Pear and Apple Cobbler
Is there anything better than a dessert made with BOTH pears and apples? We don't think so! In one short hour, this dessert is ready to serve with a little ice cream and caramel sauce. The recipe recommends using Granny Smith apples and Bosc pears, but we're pretty sure it would taste amazing with any variety!
2. Cranberry-Quince Chutney
Change it up! Instead of serving canned or prepared cranberry sauce with your turkey this year, opt for this cranberry-quince chutney instead. Also featuring Granny Smith apples and raisins, this simple recipe can be prepared in only one hour. Your guests will be surprised and delighted with this unique side sauce.
3. The Most Delicious Thanksgiving Corn Recipe
The name of this recipe says it all! If you're looking for a delicious way to use our Chilliwack corn, look no further! Made with corn, peppers, cream cheese, and Parmesan cheese, this recipe will please any crowd. Plus, it's quick! You can whip up this side dish in less than half an hour.
4. Hot Mulled Cider
This blog post would be complete without a beverage recipe! There's nothing better on a cold autumn evening than hot apple cider. Use our 100% apple juice made from the apples on our orchard in Oliver, BC to take this recipe to the next level. Serve at the start of your Thanksgiving get-together or after dinner for a sweet evening treat.
What recipes are you making this Thanksgiving? Do any of them feature our fresh, BC fruits and veggies?
